For those unfamiliar with the show, The Golden Girls was a popular comedy sitcom that reached peak popularity between the 80’s-early 90’s. (It happens to be my favorite show.) Every episode without fail, resulted in the girls sitting around a table tying to eat an entire cheesecake. In fact, whenever any sort of conflict ensued, cheesecake was the obvious answer.
So last night, I experienced my own Golden Girls moment at the crown jewel of cheesecake- The Cheesecake Factory. With a rather intimidating menu in front of me, I had to somehow select only one piece. Finally, after much consideration, I went with the Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake and my friend went with the Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake. Both were heavenly, but this place is certainly not for those on a diet. Each slice of cheesecake started at 1,000 calories and I believe mine was around 1,600. Pretty hefty if you ask me, but hey, sometimes you gotta live a little.
My friend and I loved the cheesecake almost as much as we loved our server. He was extremely personable, full of life, and fun to be around. I always consider service to be among the most important parts of a dining experience. Perhaps, that’s because I work in a restaurant myself, but regardless, great service can make a great memory.
Though The Cheesecake Factory isn’t typically the type of destination I blog about, I missed writing too much and was desperate to try out my new camera. Besides, for people who reside in rural, desolate country areas like me, The Cheesecake Factory is a foreign place anyway.
That’s about it for now. I’ll do my best to find a more riveting and deserving destination for a blog post this weekend.
Much love as always,
